Dynamic Training UK has been supporting Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust with the development of teaching resources to support their Support Worker Development Programme.

Berkshire HealthCare NHS Foundation Trust has been working on a project for the last 2 years funded by Skills for Health on the development of a progression pathway to support their bands 1 – 4.

The ASPIRE programme is the Support Worker Development Programme

Project offered the opportunity to:

  • Identify competences for support worker role – giving greater clarity
  • Review current training provision and, if required, develop flexible training and education relevant to the role
  • Develop structured career progression routes for support workers

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides an excellent example of how the QCF (Qualification Credit Framework) which is replacing the existing NVQ structure, to support vocational education for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, can support employers to create flexible, fit for purpose training packages.  They have developed an accredited training package that is placed on the QCF and that specifically meets their workforce needs.

Dynamic Training UK has been supporting the development of the teaching resources to support the 0 – 6 months introductory awards.  Progress South Central Life Long Learning Network has supported this development.

Please view http://www.dynamictraininguk.co.uk/qcf-advice/ to gain a greater understanding of what the QCF is and how it can benefit your organisation.
