Dynamic Training UK supports new migrant women in the Portsmouth area
For more than a year Dynamic Training UK has been working closely on a fascinating project with Portsmouth City Council. The Gateway Portsmouth (In-Thuse Project) involves delivering training to new migrant women in the area who wish to become Community Advisors and advocates within their own community.
The training has provided information, advice and guidance as well as social and personal development for these ladies, most of whom do not have English as their first language.
This has not been an issue for Dynamic Training UK, but it has had to be a consideration.
Gateway is a European-funded project via the European Integration Fund.
This amazing pilot project, managed by Jane Leech, has very tight targets to hit so we have had to work very closely together.
The quality of the Advisors is absolutely key to the success of the roles within the community as well as the project.
So far, 32 women have been trained and another 15 are ready to come on board in what Jane is confident will be a great best practise model to be shared with similar projects.
Jane enjoys working with Dynamic Training UK because of their flexibility and because they can be relied on the deliver what is needed on time to very tight deadlines. This is vital for a time-pressured project. Jane says:
“This whole project would falter if Dynamic Training UK was not so effective. Our retention rates are high which reflects the good quality training. We see classrooms full of excited and motivated women who are turning out to be top-quality Advisors within their communities.”
Jane goes on to say that she can be, “Very demanding and capable of changing my mind at any moment”. But nothing has phased the training company!
