Work Health Trainer

 

What we offer:

Dynamic Training UK in partnership with Thames Valley University has created a Level 4 continuous professional development module for Health Trainers to become Work Health Trainers.

The Work Health Trainer (WHT) role is new and has been developed from the existing Health Trainer role which was introduced in the wake of the Government White Paper Choosing Health. 

The Work Health Trainer (WHT) follows similar concepts to the Health Trainer, but with the focus on enabling people that may be out of work or at risk of loosing employment due to ill health, to get back into employment or to retain work.

Who is it for?

This continuous professional development module is for existing Health Trainers and for anyone else who is employed to support individuals within the health and employment sectors.

Course Content: 

 To develop the relevant skills and knowledge required to facilitate clients out of work or having difficulty sustaining work, back into work or meaningful activity. This will be achieved by providing an understanding of the core principles, issues and values that form the foundations of the role and responsibilities of the Work Health Trainer.
 
  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between health and work and the barriers clients may face in order to get back into work or meaningful activity.
  2. Explore the affects of worklessness, long term conditions and stress.
  3. Enable individuals back into work or meaningful activity by exploring the principles of assessment and motivation.
  4. Communicate effectively with clients and promote self-management using coaching techniques.
  5. Develop the skills needed to understand and establish relationships with employment and health services in the local community, in order to provide a seamless service between relevant agencies.
  6. Develop a wider knowledge and understanding of promoting health and well-being within the workplace.

  • Communication Skills
  • Examining the role of the WHT
  • Assessing your clients
  • Grow Model
  • Exploration of issues clients face with Long Term Conditions in their Local areas, for example Musculoskeletal System
  • Approaches to health and health promotion
  • Affects of Unemployment
  • Exploring case scenarios

How is it delivered?

The programme is delivered via blended learning (on line and face to face). There are 6 sessions delivered in the class room with the following assessment occuring onl line.

Cost:

£1250 (excluding VAT) per person

 In house delivery available discounts available for groups

Venue:

These courses can be delivered in the workplace or at Dynamic’s venue in the High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and Bracknell in Berkshire
