Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship for Assistant Practitioners in Healthcare

Developing the role of the assistant practitioner can help employers ensure they have the right flexible mix of skills to meet complex patient needs, freeing up registered practitioners to deliver what they have been uniquely trained for.
The Level 5 higher apprenticeship assistant practitioner is for learners who work or want to work as an assistant practitioner in Healthcare and related services. Specific competences required for the role will vary depending on the clinical area within the assistant practitioner is working.Assistant practicioner

Assistant Practitioners work in a range of healthcare settings. They assess, treat and care for patients, in specific circumstances. They carry out delegated tasks from health professionals and are accountable for certain tasks themselves; sometimes they work independently.

On completion of the qualification, learners may progress onto further qualifications specific to their work context.
Within the higher apprenticeships learners must achieve a Level 5 QCF Diploma.
