Progress South Central is the Lifelong Learning Network for Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey and focuses on the needs of the learner and the employer, encompasses a breadth of provision and mission within its partner institutions, represents the voices of further and higher education equally; and delivers clear benefits to the region that could not be achieved by individual institutions. Progress invited Gail and Claire to present at the conference because throughout the 3 year life span of the lifelong learning network, DTUK has had 3 projects funded by Progress all with varying degrees of learning and development supporting the health and social care sectors.

DTUK has the ability to work in innovative and creative ways to supporting education and training for the health and social care workforce, including creating new training packages, progression pathways and new workplace roles.

Why

DTUK has been funded with the 3 following projects:

Creating a progression pathway for Domiciliary Care workers – see link below for description and final report

The Work health trainer CPD module.

Managing Well Being and Productivity project – see report attached .

Following the work health trainer and the MWP projects DTUK has now created a Well Being for Work Coaching module.  The first cohort is underway and there is 100% success and retention at present.

DTUK is expertly placed to support health and well being initiatives within the workplace and within the community.

Future Developments

We have recently introduced funded provision for (Advanced) Adult Apprenticeships working with our partners, and also we are now delivering a taught Common Induction Programme - Skills for Care.
