Supporting the Education Sector to prepare for the QCF

E-mail Print PDF

Dynamic Training UK is at the forefront of Government initiatives and can support the education sector within vocational reform and the effective implementation of the QCF (Qualification Credit Framework).

During the 2008 test and trials of the QCF we supported the implementation of the Professional Development awards within Substance Misuse Level 3 and 4 which were successful.

‘The biggest benefit for me was how the test and trial benefited the learners.  The programme had a suite of 33 units, some at level 3 and some at level 4.  All with credits allocated to them.  Within QCF and rules of combination the learner could choose any unit regardless of level that met her role within work.  She was working as a youth worker so would normally have only been undertaken a level 3 Health and Social Care NVQ due to her job role.  However, through continuous professional development she was being supported within her role to undertake some management tasks, so we were able to choose units that were at level 4.  This meant that she achieved a Level 4 award, rather than the level 3 that she would only have been able to complete on the old NVQ structure.

This is a huge benefit to both the learner and her employer. It was really nice to see.'
