Caron has worked with Gail and Claire both at TVU and since they formed Dynamic Training UK. Caron and Gail both visited Bangladesh on the health and social care project and Caron undertook some work in Poland with The British Council to advise on Post Registration Nurse Education.
Caron says: ‘’I built up an enormous amount of knowledge of the FE Sector during my employment with TVU, and gained an insight into learning and development within NHS Trusts across South Central and London. I also developed local labour market intelligence which enabled me to successfully tender for projects across both geographical areas over a number of years. I was also successful in gaining Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE), status with the team at TVU.
My passion as far as education is concerned is developing Bands 1 – 4 in the NHS and spreading the word regarding Apprenticeships in Health and Health and Social Care.
I have built on this experience as an independent consultant and in 2010 worked with a colleague on two projects with NHS South Central.
Also in 2010 / 11, I was one of the authors working for Pearson on the new Apprentice Activity Text for Health and Social Care level 2 which has recently been published.
I worked with ABC as co – author for QCF units and this is the third year I have been a Centre Risk Assessor for Edexcel. I am a qualified External Verifier.

Ray Overton - Internal Verifier
Professional Training:
- State Enrolled Nurse – Trained At Orpington Hospital 1980
- Registered General Nurse – Trained at Wexham Park Hospital 1985
- Registered Mental Nurse – Trained at Fairmile Hospital Wallingford 1987
- BSc(Hons) in Health Services Management at Royal College of Nursing Institute 1996
- PGCEA at the University of Surrey 1998
Over my years in Nursing (18) I have worked in many settings, from hospital (General & Mental Health) to community (General). Over this time I took on more managerial responsibility ending my clinical career at a Charge Nurse grade. After leaving the clinical area I moved into education and specifically NVQs and HealthCare Assistants. I have worked in this area for 12 years and have covered all NVQ roles from Candidate to External Verifier.
I feel strongly about vocational training and its method of developing people. I believe that not everyone is suited to academia and that vocational training offers an alternative route for individual development within the persons chosen career. I believe that quality is at the core of any training and I work hard to ensure that my assessing and verifying maintains and supports the highest quality standards.
As a person I like a wide range of books and am passionate about classical music.
